Dr. Jill Marie Lord is the founder of Lord Art History and has over twenty years of experience in art historical research and education. She has taught at the University of Virginia, and Brooklyn and Hunter Colleges of the City University of New York. She has presented her research at the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia, Mount Vernon House Museum in New York City, and the Annual Conference of the Society of Architecture Historians. In 2014 Drayton Hall selected her for its Distinguished Speaker Series.
After pursuing an academic career, Jill decided to use her passion for teaching and art historical research to build an art advisory business. She collects contemporary photography and as a collector has developed extensive connections with gallerists and art dealers on the primary and secondary market.
Jill holds a PhD in Art History from the Graduate Center, City University of New York, and she has completed coursework at Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
